Effective October 26, 2026
Short version: Merger Mogul has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email, location or contacts. We collect anonymous gameplay statistics to improve the game and nothing we collect is used for advertising or sold.
When you create or join a room, the room code, the player names you type, game moves and your device ID are stored on our server (Cloudflare Durable Objects) so everyone in the room can play. Player names are visible to others in the room. Room data is used only to run the game.
If you turn on turn notifications, your browser gives us a push subscription (an anonymous endpoint and keys from Apple, Google or Mozilla), or the iPhone/iPad app gives us an Apple Push Notification device token. We store it with your seat in that room and use it only to tell you it is your turn (sent through Apple’s or your browser’s push service). Notifications contain no personal information. Turn them off any time in your device or browser settings.
If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reports your scores and achievements from games you play on that device directly to Apple’s Game Center, under Apple’s privacy policy. We never receive your Game Center identity, and you can turn Game Center off in the Settings app.
We record anonymous events: app opened, which screen or mode is used (This Device, Online, Help & Settings, How to Play, opening or playing the walkthrough, the Apple TV tip, a first-turn place hint, a quiet reconnect notice), actions such as starting, joining, adding a player, changing the holdings option, opening Game Center, quitting, starting over with the same players, and playing again, plus game started, finished or abandoned (and the phase a local game was left in), game mode, number of seats, human vs computer seats, computer difficulty, winner type, turns, game length, mergers, and settings such as hints, sound, speed and the show-holdings option. Events can include a coarse platform — web, iOS, or an Apple TV host — and nothing else about the device. We do not record names, custom company names, room codes, IP addresses or device IDs. For rate limiting we briefly use a one-way, daily-rotating hash of your IP address in memory; it is never stored.
Merger Mogul is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We do not use cookies for players; the only cookie is for the site owner’s private stats page.
Merger Mogul is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Clear your browser’s site data to delete everything stored on your device. To ask about or delete online room data, email us with the room code.
If this policy changes we will update the date above.
